BUSINESS RISK SOLUTIONS (BRS) & OUTSOURCING SUPERVISOR

Principal functions:

The Business Risk Solutions (BRS) & Outsourcing Supervisor position is primarily responsible for providing technical and administrative services to the Firm’s business risk services, back-office accounting, and outsourcing clients. Assignments may range from single-step activities within a particular procedure to full responsibility over the execution of a client engagement. 

The BRS & Outsourcing Supervisor will also perform assurance procedures on internal and compliance audit engagements as needed, under the supervision of, and consultation with the engagement manager and/or partner.  The Supervisor will review and execute internal controls review of; in addition to researching assurance issues utilizing electronic databases, reviewing and tracking of financial information utilizing assurance-related software, establish and enhance relationships with appropriate client personnel, and executing other projects as assigned. Procedures may range from a single cycle in the internal audit program to a complete section of the financial statements or the responsibility for a division or a branch of the entity being audited.

 

Essential duties, responsibilities, and expectations:

Mainly required to meet BRS role

  • Assess and monitor clients’ risk management process in keeping with best practices 
  • Review, test, and report on clients’ regulatory controls compliance in keeping with relevant regulatory laws and regulations
  • Review, test, and report on clients’ internal controls for effectiveness and efficiency
  • Perform adequate research on client issues to support recommendations/proposals to client on industry best practices
  • Gain and maintain a comprehensive understanding of client’s operations and procedural manuals and utilize that knowledge on engagement to ensure compliance
  • Perform internal audit procedures whilst maintaining adherence to professional standards and strict client confidentiality
  • Maintain open, cordial, and respectful communication with clients and team
  • Perform assurance procedures on internal and external audit engagements as instructed, and under the supervision of, and consultation with the engagement manager and/or Partner
  • Be proactive in promptly informing the senior staff of problems encountered when performing assigned tasks
  • Maintain a good working relationship with the client
  • Understand and manage Firm risk on audits and all work assigned
  • Work closely with seniors, managers, and partners on all phases of the engagement
  • Provide periodic reports to Partners and Director as required
  • Process engagement information using Grant Thornton audit tools: LEAP, IDEA, Excel, and Word. etc.
  • Become knowledgeable of Firm policies, procedures and the AICPA/ACCA rules, regulations, and International Federation of Accountants Code of Ethics, and the Firm’s Quality Monitoring Manual (QMM).

 

Mainly required to meet Outsourcing role

  • Monitor client accounts and update accounting system daily and as required
  • Reconcile client accounts 
  • Create and maintain client ledgers and files (physical and digital); Include all relevant documentation including bank statements, credit and debit advices, etc. 
  • Process weekly, bi-weekly and monthly payrolls for payroll outsourcing clients
  • Issue payment requests to clients for payroll funds and liaise with clients to ensure receipt prior to the disbursement of funds on their behalf
  • Prepare and process statutory deduction payments on behalf of the client as required
  • Liaise with clients and provide information and reports as needed
  • Perform basic accounting and bookkeeping on behalf of client
  • Perform ad hoc assignments within capabilities as directed
  • Assess and monitor governance through clients’ policies and procedures for compliance with best practices.

You are required to read, understand and be guided by the IFAC Code of Ethics, Part A, and familiarize yourself with and refer to Part B for guidance as appropriate.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a CPA license, ACCA license, or other suitable equivalent, in good standing.
  • Five years or more of progressive public accounting experience with in-charge auditing experience desirable
  • Ability to supervise the assistants and ability to lead/manage a vast array of engagements/projects.
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
